Gorman, Greg. JUST BETWEEN US. Santa Fe, NM: Arena Editions, 2002. Hardcover. First Edition/First Printing. Unpaginated. Fine/Fine.

The photographer's most daring collection of male nudes. The first and only edition. Published in a small and limited first print run as a hardcover original only. The book is now very scarce. A handsome production by Greg Gorman and James Crump: Green cloth boards with gilt titles embossed on spine and miniature photographic reproduction pasted on cover, as issued. Photographs and text by Greg Gorman. Printed on thick coated stock paper by EBS in Verona, Italy to the highest standards. In pictorial DJ with gilt titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name held at the Fahey/Klein Gallery Los Angeles from April 11 through May 18, 2002. The show travelled on to New York City. Presents page after page of black-and-white, full-page, "bleed" as well as cropped nude photographs featuring just one model, Greg Knudson. Those who will immediately think this is a "remake" of Bruce Weber's "Chop Suey Club" need to know right away that the similarity ends there. This is photography that tests and challenges the line between erotic art photography and so-called pornography. The point is Greg Gorman does not need to prove how well he can photograph a male nude, as evidenced by his previous collections, notably "Greg Gorman" Volumes One and Two and "As I See It". This collection posits the subversive notion that this man's sole reason for being is sex: Having the physical beauty and natural endowment for it, experiencing it guiltlessly, showing it off uninhibitedly, and sharing it openly with his voyeur/viewers. His most sexually explicit collection, this is a "must-have" title for Greg Gorman collectors. This title has been out-of-print for a long time and is now collectible. This is one of very few copies still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a beauty. One of the very last titles published by the now-defunct Arena Editions, the title's availability has been very unpredictable, thereby making copies increase in value dramatically. A very scarce copy thus. 250 duotone plates. One of the finest living American photographers. A fine collectible copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER GREG GORMAN TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). ISBN 1892041561. $150.00
