Stryker, Jim (Model/Subject) & Kundzicz, Walter (Champion Studios). JIM STRYKER: "FULL-FRONTAL PROFILE" NUDE COLOR PHOTOGRAPH BY WALTER KUNDZICZ. New York City, NY: Champion Studio, 1988. Hardcover. First Edition/First Printing. 1 pages. Fine.

Rare Jim Stryker and Walter Kundzicz/Champion Studios collectible item. An original contemporary (1988) color photograph of Jim Stryker, the single most popular and most good-looking male-nude model discovered by Walter Kundzicz, in one of his earliest (and very few) full-frontal nude portraits. The photograph measures 3.5 X 5 inches and is presented "bleed". Champion Studio's vintage prints were "pocket size" and had white borders, the widespread practice in the 1960's. It is encased in a protective plastic sheet. The photograph shows Jim Stryker in a Classical semi-profile pose, Perfection Incarnate, in the manner of a Greek god. He is photographed in a natural setting and has close-cropped hair (Stryker grew his hair out for his later sessions with Kundzicz). The photograph belonged to the small surviving number of portraits in Walter Kundzicz's possession. The original prints were taken by Kundzicz's partner after Champion Studios dissolved, have completely vanished, and never been found. Furthermore, Stryker did not pose completely nude again in any of his later iconic portraits, and this photograph does not appear in Walter Kundzicz's "Champion" book. Jim Stryker is the prototypical All-American male beauty. He anticipates by about two decades the model/stars of the reigning American photographer of the male nude, Bruce Weber. This is the genuine article, not just memorabilia, a "must-have" collectible for Jim Stryker, Walter Kundzicz/Champion, and male erotic art photography collectors. This is an original color print, and it is very boldly and beautifully signed in black pen on verso by the photographer: "W. Kundzicz/Champion". It is also dated/stamped "Jul 1988". This is the only such copy of the print available online, is eminently suitable for framing, and is in fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a beauty. There are Jim Stryker/Walter Kundzicz prints and digital copies available online, but most of them have major flaws and have little or no collectible value. A rare signed copy thus. One of the iconic American male-nude models of the 20th century. A fine collectible copy.
