Stryker, Jim (Model/Subject) & Kundzicz, Walter (Champion Studios). JIM STRYKER: PHOTOGRAPHS BY WALTER KUNDZICZ. Union City, NJ: The Body Builder Publications, Inc. , 1963. Hardcover. First Edition/First Printing. 48 pages. Fine.

Rare Jim Stryker and Walter Kundzicz/Champion Studios collectible item. A copy of Tomorrow's Man Magazine April 1963 Issue. The Issue is now very rare. Features Jim Stryker, the single most popular and most good-looking male-nude model discovered by Walter Kundzicz, as photographed in 1961, in some of his most beautiful and iconic portraits. The Issue shows Jim Stryker full-frontal nude on the cover (his genital area was "airbrushed" by the publisher to make it look like he is wearing a discreet gray bikini) and inside, two pages showing the model on the beach (in black-and-white). It is encased in a protective plastic sheet. "Famous for quality color images of handsome, athletic young men from the late 1950's and early 1960's, these photographs of scantily clad athletes (packed with amusing props, costumes, and bulging posing pouches) are notable not only for the commercial success they enjoyed during their heyday but also for their enduring creativity and imagination. Kundzicz and his work left an indelible imprint on male physique photography. Today, nearly half a century later, Kundzicz's work and his most popular models continue to have their ardent fans" (Reed Massengill). Jim Stryker is the prototypical All-American male beauty. He anticipates by about two decades the model/stars of the reigning American photographer of the male nude, Bruce Weber. This is the genuine article, not just memorabilia, a "must-have" collectible for Jim Stryker, Walter Kundzicz/Champion, and male erotic art photography collectors. This is a copy of Tomorrow's Man (TM) Magazine Issue, which is now very rare and highly collectible. This is the only copy available online, is the only one we have ever found, and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a beauty. A very rare copy thus. One of the iconic American male-nude models of the 20th century. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER JIM STRYKER, TUCK POWELL, JOE DALLESANDRO, AND BRUCE OF LOS ANGELES TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). $70.00
