Thoma, Benno. BENNO THOMA: EDITION EUROS 3. Berlin, Germany: Bruno Gmunder Verlag, 1996. Hardcover. First Edition/First Printing. Unpaginated. As New.

Retrospective collection of male nudes. Now considered a contemporary erotic art photography title. The First Hardcover Edition. Precedes and should not be confused with all other subsequent editions, particularly the Postcard Edition. Published as Volume 3 of the publisher's legendary Editions Euro 3 Series. An austerely elegant production by Bruno Gmunder Verlag: Small-size volume format. Pictorial hard boards with titles on the cover and spine, as issued. Photographs by Benno Thoma. There is very minimal text. Printed on thick glossy stock paper in Germany to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Presents some of the photographer's finest and most representative male nudes in a gem of a book. Many of the images appear in book form for the very first time. Almost all of them are full-frontal without being lewd, erotic in the best, aesthetic sense of the word. Like most other photographers, Benno Thoma works in fashion, magazine, and advertising photography. He achieved breakthrough status with his male-nude photography books. His three books, "Young Companions" (1994), "Somos Cubanos" (1998), and "Absolute Sweden" (2001, it is not represented in this retrospective) are world-class. His much-anticipated fourth collection, "Around The Globe" (2010), has finally been released by Bel Ami, to near-universal reviews as the best in the Bel Ami Series ever. A "must-have" title for Benno Thoma collectors. This edition has been out-of-print for a very long time and is now highly collectible. This is one of extremely few copies of the First Hardcover Edition still available online and has no flaws, a pristine beauty. Almost all other copies available online are the Postcard Edition or have major flaws. A very scarce copy thus. 45 plates. One of the most brilliant living photographers. A flawless copy.
