Weber, Bruce (Photographer) & The Editors of Abercrombie & Fitch Quarterly. ABERCROMBIE & FITCH JOURNAL: "YOUNG". Columbus, OH: Abercrombie & Fitch, 2004. Softcover. First Edition/First Printing. 60 pages. Fine.

Rare Bruce Weber collectible item. A pristine copy of the "Young" Summer 2004 A & F Special Issue. The latter was distributed to subscribers only and not sold in Abercrombie & Fitch stores. There is no ISBN. The Issue is now very scarce. An elegant production by A & F: Regular-sized volume format. White softcovers with the word "Young" printed on the cover, as issued. Bound at the spine in black linen cloth, making it resemble one of Bruce Weber's "All-American" Album Series. Photographs by Bruce Weber. There is no text. Printed on thick uncoated stock paper to the highest standards. The digital reproduction quality brings out the crisp, rich, and warm tones of the photographs beautifully. Without DJ, as issued. Presents the distinctive, instantly recognizable, and erotically charged imagery that revolutionized Abercrombie & Fitch, and is now very sorely missed, as the magazine has since been discontinued. Lavishly illustrated with photographs of good-looking men and beautiful women. Among the Issue's wonderful surprises is an older, more mature, and even more good-looking Peter Johnson, the subject of "The Chop Suey Club". This Special Issue was "transitional", released as Abercrombie & Fitch was in the process of moving from its controversial racy look (1997-2004) to its later, much tamer version, a move that was prompted by complaints from far right/Moral Majority-type organizations. As such, it was one of the last gasps of life from the now-legendary collaboration between Bruce Weber and Abercrombie & Fitch. An asbolute "must-have" title for Bruce Weber collectors. This title had very limited distribution, was not sold commercially, and is now highly collectible. This is one of very few copies still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. It is, quite simply, the single most beautiful copy we have ever seen. A rare copy thus. Bruce Weber's "O Rio de Janeiro", the sexiest photography book ever published, was selected as one of the "Seminal Photography Books" in the "Book of 101 Books". One of the finest living American photographers. A fine collectible copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER BRUCE WEBER TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). $150.00
