Russ, Cesar. CESAR RUSS: "SUMMER DAY, CHICAGO" ORIGINAL COLOR PRINT. Chicago, IL: Cesar Russ Studios, 2006. Other. First Edition/First Printing. 1 pages. As New.

Rare Cesar Russ collectible item. A pristine original color print that is numbered, titled, dated, and signed by the photographer. The print measures 8.5 X 5.5 inches. None of the copies was commercially distributed. There is no ISBN. The print is now rare. Presents Cesar Russ' "Summer Day, Chicago". The image is a breathtakingly beautiful view of a stretch of Lake Michigan on a cool summer day. Not the kind of image one sees of The Windy City (much less identifies with it), and therefore all the more precious. Cesar Russ is a photography institution in Chicago because of his landmark photographic supplies stores. Less-well-known is that, like so many who work full-time in the business, he is a very talented and accomplished photographer in his own right. That should sound obvious, but it isn't. Many book dealers are not necessarily readers much less writers, but they have a crucial role to play in the (beleaguered) book business. A keeper-souvenir from a beloved American city. An absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, item for Cesar Russ and Chicago-iana collectors. This 8.5 X 5.5 original color print is very prominently, neatly, and beautifully titled, numbered, signed, and dated (in that order) in pencil on recto by the photographer: "Summer Day, Chicago 16/50 Cesar Russ 06". It is signed directly on the print itself. This print is now collectible. As far as we know, this is the only such original print available online and has no flaws, a pristine beauty. A rare signed item thus. 1 original color print. One of the most accomplished American photographers of our time. A flawless print. (SEE ALSO FRED CRAY AND JAY TYRRELL TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). $50.00
