Printed on glossy stock paper in Berlin, Germany to the highest standards. Without DJ, as issued. Presents Will McBride's "Paintings, Drawings, And Sculpture". McBride, who is best-known for his photographic oeuvre, as late-modern Renaissance Man. His art is a continuation of his photography. The neo-realist paintings (which will remind you of David Hockney, only much more explicit), excellent drawings, and accomplished sculpture show the artist/photographer to be an unabashed admirer of male youth. Freed from the inherent realism of the photographic medium, the works are even more erotic in their depiction not just of male nudity but the sex act. McBride tirelessly spent more than fifty years painting, drawing, and creating sculptures and other multi-media works, sometimes on commission, but more often, mainly for his own personal satisfaction. McBride was relentless about and captured the threshold we call "puberty" and "adolescence", which he preferred to call, poetically and nostalgically, "losing childhood". Youth is Bliss and Perfection. If he had his way, his subjects would be frozen in time and never ever change. As in a sense, they never will, through his photographs and now, also his art. Will McBride died on January 15, 2015 at the age of 84, youth-obsessed until the very end, leaving behind a large body of work that will probably remain controversial for some time. An absolute "must-have" title for Will McBride collectors. This title is now collectible. As far as we know, this is one of only two copies of the Exhibition Catalog still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a pristine beauty. A rare copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with color plates. Will McBride's "Show Me!" was selected as one of the greatest photography books in "The Photobook". One of the most provocative and innovative artist/photographers of our time. A fine copy. . $50.00
