Presented as a torrent of images without any accompanying commentary, the editor, Phil Beddard, obviously came to the conclusion that the pictures, words, and sundry other images, often organized in messy but witty collages, speak volumes about the subject. The best parts of the book are the "found" images, such as the one about a security guard named John Wayne, who happily discovers another side of himself that he was previously unaware of. His discovery leads to a life-altering situation. Similarly humorous and tongue-in-cheek personals, billboards, and excerpts from magazine articles and "night life" guides abound in this unusual volume. A fascinating, hilarious guide.
